1. Concepts in discipline and learning space management

Discipline and learning space management is the process of ensuring that learning activities run smoothly despite disruptive behavior by trainees in the learning space and also implies the prevention of such disruptive behavior.

Learning space management is concerned with behavior and can therefore be defined as planning, organizing and controlling the learners, the learning processes and the learning environment to create and maintain an effective learning experience (Krause, Bouchner and Duchesne, 2003).

Discipline and learning space management involves all the things a trainer must do to foster trainee involvement and cooperation in the selected learning activities.

Discipline and learning space management will also refer to a trainer’s technique to create and maintain an orderly, conducive, and disciplined learning environment. It is a means for a trainer to arrive at answers to trainees’ misbehavior, which is often connected to motivation, discipline, and respect in the classroom.
